From Here to There_Mapping the Georgian Bay Watershed
This work represents a visual mapping and meditation on the politics of making place and meaning, as a settler, on the land and waters in which I live, work, and travel. The Map imagery illustrates historical “settlement” narratives (colonial invasion), of the Great Lakes region of Canada, as well as their intersections with (forced) Indigenous displacement (Reservations and Treaties) and the non-human life of bird, fish, and mammal. My focus on the Georgian Bay/Lake Huron watershed, reflects my ongoing research into the area my family calls home on the East side of Georgian Bay.
